Additional Insights from the “Outlook 2024” Pulse Survey

As originally reported in the December 2023 McMahon Report, McMahon Group conducted a proprietary “Outlook 2024” Pulse Survey at the end of 2023, to gauge the overall health of the club industry and measure club leaders’ level of optimism as a new year approached. Over 400 survey responses were received from club General Managers/CEOs/COOs, Board Presidents, owners, and others working in the industry.

The Winter 2024 issue of Club Trends presents a full report on the findings from the wide-ranging survey, along with forecasts and “hot takes” from experts at McMahon Group and Kopplin, Kuebler & Wallace for many aspects of club operations and management, including: strategic and facilities planning; capital expenditures; finance; governance; leadership; energy management; golf and golf course maintenance; food-and-beverage and racquets programs, and staffing and workforce issues.

The Club Trends Outlook 2024 issue also provides insights into:

  • The broader outside issues that will most occupy club leaders’ attention for the remainder of the decade;
  • What concerns them most about changing lifestyles and their effect on the makeup, needs and desires of their memberships;
  • What areas of club management and operations promise to command their greatest attention in the coming year;
  • What new amenity, program or service would be on their “wish list” as something they’d most like to add at their clubs, provided money wasn’t an issue.
