In the photo above, see proof of 50+ year as Santa with children. This is an exciting McMahon Report® as there is a lot happening with us. The Canadian armwith Denzil Palmer is active, facility improvement projects are getting approved, our Homeowner (HOA) facility approval services are active and our Refresher strategic planning has been a big hit with managers and boards. Frank Vain’s Country Club of Detroit is our main feature in this report as this club has blossomed with success on all fronts. The nomination process for the Excellence in Club Management™ Award’s program is well underway with the nomination deadline on November 21st. We also were able to recognize two outstanding managers, Kristen LaCount at The Country Club and Patrick King at the Army Navy Country Club with awards at their respective clubs. On a lighter note, I was present at the birthday of a close friend, Phil Kiester, at the Country Club of Virginia where in doing a focus group, his staff surprised himwith a cake. He only gets better with age. Other interesting articles herein are on the need for clubs to master plan dining concepts, a club success story about Naples Lakes with Bryan Roe, and howwe have been successful in offering capital reserve studies for clubs and HOA facilities with Miller Dodson. Finally, I recommend reading the forthcoming Club Trends issue we produce with NCA on gender issues in our club industry. It is well worth the read.
